ABOUT US

Sole Solution is a family run Podiatry Clinic and Shoe shop in the heart of Kilmacolm.

​

We have five University qualified and HCPC registered podiatrists providing the highest quality treatment 6 days a week, and a qualifed and insured Foot Health Practitioner working in the clinic and providing home visits.

​

If you require a routine check up, an emergency appointment, mechanical assessment, a full surgical procedure or custom Insoles made to fit our team are able to help.

​

Our clinics run throughout the week with Saturday clinics subject to podiatrist availability.

Footwear and Accessories

​

Sole Solution provides footwear and accessories from major manufacturers, hand picked by our Lead Podiatrist and owner for a perfect blend of fashion, functionality and comfort - no one likes ugly shoes or sore feet after all!

​

We currently supply Rieker, Skechers, Caprice, Padders, Archies, Sheperd of Sweden and a wide range of footcare products recommended by the Podiatry Team.

​

We are also able to source footwear for specific requirements.

OUR SERVICES

Biomechanics Assessment

If you suffer foot pain that is mechanical our Podiatrists will carry out a full gait analysis and assessment of the structure and function of your foot and lower limb to diagnosis any anomalies causing pain/discomfort/injury. We can then treat most conditions with corrective insoles/orthotics and exercises.

Mobilisation
​

As Podiatrists we are fully trained in foot and lower limb mobilisation. Different to manipulation in that we gently and painlessly aim to restore joint mobility and flexibility with passive movement on the deep tissues of the foot. This technique with corrective exercises will stretch, strengthen and stabilise your feet allowing them to function better.

Verruca Needling With Dermojet 

This treatment is very successful in getting rid of those stubborn verrucas! The foot will be anaesthetised using our needle-free Dermojet and the foot then needled several times to create an inflammatory response by the body's own immune system. Usually requiring only one or two treatments with 2-3 months in between

Warm Wax Therapy
​

This treatment can be added to your Podiatry treatment for a luxury experience. Warm wax is applied to your feet from single use sterile pods to the areas requiring intense hydration. The wax rejuvenates the skin and also reduces localised inflammation helping with pain control.

Podiatry Appointment 
​

Our most popular treatment. An in-depth foot assessment followed by the appropriate treatment such as removal of hard skin, corns and nail care within our relaxed clinic environment. Leaving you pain free and smiling.

Nail Surgery 

Permanently remove part or all of an ingrowing toe nail. This procedure is done under local anaesthetic within our clinic. We use a chemical to stop regrowth of the nail. This is a very successful and straightforward procedure with minimal pain and recovery. Price includes follow up dressing check.

Acupuncture
​

A treatment which is used to manage musculoskeletal conditions affecting our bodies. It is used in the treatment of joint and muscle pain where needles are inserted into specific places on the foot, ankle or lower leg. A course of 2-4 treatments is normally recommended to receive the full therapeutic advantage.

Home Visit

We offer Podiatry treatments at home for those clients who are house bound or within a care setting. A full foot assessment and treatment of skin, nails, callous and corns will be carried out.

Elim MediPedi Express

An express Elim treatment which can be enjoyed as a stand alone treatment or after your Podiatry treatment.

Calluses are softened with the Heel Peel Tonic.

The Tonic changes the Ph level of the skin which enables hard skin to soften and be removed.

The skin is then returned to its natural Ph levels with Neutraliser.

An Acid exfoliant is used to further breakdown dead skin cells.

Foot Perfector is applied to nourish. Gold Spritz to finish.

Elim Medipedi

​

The complete Elim Medipedi treatment. Heel Peel Tonic is applied to alter the PH of hard, calloused skin enabling thorough treatment and revealing smooth skin.

Neutraliser applied to rebalance the skins Ph.

Gentle exfoliation followed by application of Ultra clay mask to detoxify and lock in moisture.

Feet soaked in a Spa additive footbath and then massaged with our honey derived foot protector.

Gold Spritz to finish.

Laura Kelly

BSc (Hons) Podiatry, PG Dip Podiatric Medicine, HCPC Registered

​

Laura graduated from Glasgow Caledonian  University in 2010. She worked for the NHS while undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in Podiatric medicine at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. 

Laura started Sole Solution in 2012 as a mobile service and set up in Greenock and Kilmacolm. In 2016, Laura’s late Mother in Law Mary encouraged her to open her own clinic and supported her in taking the leap. 

Being a Podiatrist and running the clinic and shop gives Laura great job satisfaction, she loves the balance of treating her patients many of whom she has developed friendships with and the challenge of managing the shop/clinic and supporting the staff. 

Laura now has two little  boys Arthur and Jude and is on maternity leave but she visits regularly as can’t stay away!

Helen Reid

BSc (Hons) Podiatry, HCPC Registered

​

After leaving school Helen nursed in Glasgow specialising in orthopaedics. She married a dairy farmer and ran the farm for 15 years while bringing up 2 children. Helen decided she wanted to return to healthcare and attended Glasgow Caledonian University.
As a podiatrist Helen loves meeting new people and building a trusting relationship to help them enjoy good foot health and mobility whatever their age. She is friendly and approachable and provides a positive experience to her patients, many of whom have now been coming for years and developed friendships.

 

Out of work Helen enjoys meeting up with friends and family, aswell as long walks and going to the gym. Fun Fact - Helen also plays the accordion and gets weekly lessons so maybe we’ll get her into the shop/clinic soon to show off her talents!

Elizabeth Tytler

Bsc (Hons) Podiatry, HCPC Registered

​

Elizabeth graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2018. She is registered with the Health Care Professions council and has worked both for the NHS and private sector since graduation.
Elizabeth loves being a podiatrist as she enjoys the ever changing nature of the job and being able to help people, no matter how big or small the problem.
Her keen eye helps when doing biomechanical assessments of the foot and leg, which is her speciality. She is trained in Acupuncture, kinesiology taping and mobilisation of the foot. She also does Nail surgery, verruca needling and general podiatry to a very high standard.
Out with work Elizabeth has a keen passion for rugby over the past year, playing for Bishopton Rugby Women’s Club. Elizabeth also has green fingers, inheriting her love for plants and gardening from her parents and grandparents who owned Duncan’s of Milngavie Garden Centre.

Janis Brown

Foot Health Practitioner MChS

​

Janice is our newest team member. She is a fully qualified Foot Health Practitioner and is currently undergoing an intense course set out by the Royal College of Podiatry to increase her skill set and knowledge of Podiatry. 

 

Janice was a carer at a nursing home for 17years and meet Laura whilst she was attending the residents footcare. Janice has always had a keen interest in Podiatry and footcare and asked Laura to train her for many years which, at the time wasn’t possible. It wasn’t until lockdown that Janice took the leap and retrained as a Foot Health Practitioner and has now found her calling. Janice is one of the most kind and caring people you’ll ever meet! She has the perfect personality for a job in healthcare and her patients are her priority which shines through with every treatment. 

Janice has a large family with many grandkids who she adores. She loves dogs and going walking.
